Use Case — DDP Checkout

Quote duties at cart. Your customer pays once. Nobody gets surprised.

REasy integrates with your Shopify checkout to calculate the full landed cost — duty + import VAT + carrier DDP handling fee — before your customer clicks buy. The DDP total appears as a single line at cart. Your carrier still ships the parcel; REasy provides the duty calculation, the pre-paid duty disbursement, and the customs declaration data the carrier needs to mark it DDP under Incoterms 2020.

Inside a DDP Checkout

What happens when your customer enters a German delivery address

01
Destination detected

REasy detects the delivery country from the address field and looks up the applicable duty rate for each product in the cart using its HS code.

02
Landed cost calculated

Duty + import VAT + carrier DDP handling fee are calculated in real time. The result appears as a single "Duties & taxes (DDP)" line in the order summary.

03
Order placed — duties pre-paid

The customer pays the DDP total. REasy holds the duty portion and disburses it to the carrier with the DDP label — your customer receives their parcel, nothing owed at the door.

Real Example

A €48 linen cushion shipped to the Netherlands

Under DAP: the order ships for €48 + shipping. A €5.76 duty invoice arrives from the carrier before delivery. Some customers pay. Many don't. The parcel returns.

Under DDP with REasy: the checkout shows €63.12 — everything included. The customer knows the final cost. The carrier delivers. No disputes.

Order Summary — DDP
Linen cushion × 1 € 48.00
Shipping € 5.90
Duties & taxes (DDP) Pre-paid € 9.22
Total (DDP — nothing more to pay) € 63.12
