Brice spent more than a decade working across EU customs compliance and cross-border logistics — first in an operational role at a regulated cross-border logistics company serving mid-size European e-commerce clients, then leading VAT-OSS implementation at a multi-country online retail platform where he oversaw IOSS registration across seven EU member states. He learned the compliance stack from the inside: HS code disputes, EORI registration delays, carrier DDP agreement terms, the gap between what the OSS portal accepts and what merchants actually submit.
In parallel, he ran a Shopify store selling artisanal French goods to customers across Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium. The compliance knowledge he had professionally did not protect him from the DAP problem as a merchant: a €28 ceramics order shipped DAP to a Dutch customer who refused it because the DPD driver arrived with a €9 duty invoice. That parcel cost him €28 in product and €15 in return freight. He knew exactly what the solution was — DDP with IOSS collection at checkout — and built REasy in 2025 to make that solution available as a Shopify app for any EU merchant, not just those with a customs team behind them.
